# Find Long-tail Keywords

Uncover a fresh approach to keyword research, distinct from conventional tools.

In this section, we will demonstrate how to fetch long-tail keywords from *Google Autocomplete, Reddit, Quora, or any site*.

### Fetching Long-tail Keywords

Visit <https://app.larseo.app/keywords/finder>, you will see a simple form with a search bar.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2FukzMLoTzBap0t2vJOB93%2FXnapper-2023-06-13-16.01.38.png?alt=media&amp;token=5f3b9cac-f200-4c72-90c1-434568862c2e" alt="search bar"><figcaption><p>A search bar can give you unlimited keywords.</p></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 1

Enter your seed keyword. For example, *“dog food”*. You can also use a **wildcard (\*)** as a placeholder, something like: *“how to change \*”*, or *“best \* for \*”.*

#### Step 2

Select a locale. Larseo uses locale info to check keyword search volume and identify which Google version (UK, US, etc) yields the best results.

#### Step 3

Select a keyword source below.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Autocomplete" %}
Larseo will fetch keywords from Google Autocomplete which is one of the best sources to find long-tail keywords.

* The seed keyword **"dog food"** will give you keywords like *dog food for sensitive stomach*, *dog food container*, *dog food recipes*, etc.
* **"best book for \*"** will only provide keywords that are of type "**best book for** something".
* **"how to \* book \*"** => "**how to** something **book** something".

{% hint style="info" %}
Sometimes, you will get location-based keywords like *dog feed near me*, *best dog food \[city],* you can exclude them by using [Negative Filters](/features/keyword-finder/negative-filters) feature.
{% endhint %}
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Google PAA" %}
Google PAA is Google People Also Asked and this is the best question keyword database.&#x20;

You just need to enter a seed keyword, Larseo will fetch question keywords that related to your seed keyword.\
\
You can enter up to **1000 seed keywords**. Each keyword is on its own line. The more seed keywords you enter, the more question keywords you will get.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2F2pmhLUhuvQt2ircMeO7I%2FXnapper-2023-06-13-15.54.32.png?alt=media&amp;token=dae63357-afb8-44a9-8937-a5ce8d7c231b" alt="google people also asked"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Reddit + Quora + Specific Site" %}
The unique point of Larseo is that it can help you do keyword research on a specific site such as Quora, Reddit, or any other site you want.

But why Quora and Reddit are worth doing keyword research?

Because they are the largest online question-and-answer platform, where you can find tons of content ideas and, of course, various question-based-long-tail keywords. Moreover, if a keyword is ranked in the top 10 by Reddit or Quora, it may indicate a low level of competition, thus allowing you to rank for that keyword with minimal effort.

This is the syntax for searching ranked keywords of a site.

<pre><code><a data-footnote-ref href="#user-content-fn-1">seed keyword</a> site:reddit.com
</code></pre>

If you are conducting keyword research for a programming blog, you can be certain that Stack Overflow (*stackoverflow\.com*) contains many keywords relevant to the niche.

```
python site:stackoverflow.com
```

{% hint style="info" %}
You can click the **Advance Setting** button to change the keyword position or search volume ordering. By default, Larseo will only pull keywords that are ranked in the top 10 of a site and prioritize the keywords that have the most search volume.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2F1wA2RpPKVIcXyCw82kU5%2FXnapper-2023-06-13-16.14.50.png?alt=media&amp;token=a0646047-fc32-4a15-9250-8fde5383cac6" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

#### Step 4 (For Autocomplete source only)

There are 3 modes for **Autocomplete** source.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Manual" %}
Larseo adds each letter of the alphabet and applies popular modifiers to the seed keyword. This allows Larseo to explore a wide range of related autocomplete suggestions.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="NLP" %}
Larseo uses *Natural Language Processing (NLP)* to generate semantic keywords based on your seed keyword. This mode increases the number of keywords by **15-20%** compared to Manual mode.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="In Topic" %}
This mode is ideal for retrieving keywords related to a specific topic. For example, searching&#x20;

<pre><code><a data-footnote-ref href="#user-content-fn-2">how to change *</a> topic:"automotive”
</code></pre>

will return results like “*how to change car battery*” or “*how to change car oil*”, instead of unrelated results like “*how to change an avatar picture*”.

{% hint style="info" %}
A tip when fetching keywords from Google Autocomplete with Topic mode

You can add a wildcard (\*) to your seed keyword, Larseo will respect your pattern.

**topic:"food" can I \*** will give you:

* can I eat tofu raw
* can I freeze yogurt

while **topic:"food" can I** will give you as many keywords as possible:

* what can I make with yogurt
* what can I steam dumplings in
* can I eat tofu raw
  {% endhint %}
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Entity" %}
This mode helps you find keywords that are related to the entities in your niche.

<pre><code>best <a data-footnote-ref href="#user-content-fn-3">entity:"cooking equipment"</a> for *
</code></pre>

Larseo will find entities that related to "cooking equipment" and give you keywords like: *"best knife for filleting salmon"* or *"best knife for cutting meat".*

By using this mode, you can easily find untapped keyword ideas. These keywords are associated with entities, allowing you to include them and enhance your topical authority.

Here are some popular ways to use the **Entity** mode:

* best entity:"cooking equipment" for \*
* entity:"cooking equipment"
* can I entity:"cooking"
* entity:"rowing machine" review
* tesla vs entity:"car models"

**Results:**

{% endhint %}

### Access Your Keyword Report

After fetching the long-tail keywords, Larseo will redirect you to a keyword report page. You can see the keywords, search volume, and CPC of each keyword.

{% hint style="info" %}
Keyword search volume is pulled from Google Ads API.
{% endhint %}

Here is what a keyword report looks like:

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2FOz2sMVMvkNmoEeoK6LSK%2FXnapper-2023-06-13-22.52.37.png?alt=media&amp;token=b5f5fe91-5dbf-4631-89af-215d54dcc2b2" alt="keyword report"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Run SERP Analysis

Uncover a fresh approach to keyword research, distinct from conventional tools.

After [finding many long-tail keywords](/features/keyword-finder/find-long-tail-keywords), you may wonder, which keyword should I prioritize between thousands of keywords?

In this section, we will demonstrate a novel technique known as SERP Analysis which can be used to identify low-hanging fruit keywords - those which are easier to rank for.

### What Are Low-Hanging Fruits Keywords?

1. 🎯 Low-hanging fruit keywords: Easy to rank for in SERPs.
2. 📉 Lower competition: Less competition among websites for these keywords.
3. 🚀 Quick SEO wins: Improve website visibility faster.
4. 🚦 Increased traffic: Potentially drives more authentic visitors.
5. 💰 Better conversion rates: These can lead to higher rates of user engagement and sales.

**Summary:** Low-hanging fruit keywords offer easy SEO wins with lower competition and increased potential for authentic traffic and conversion. 🌟

### Differences Between SERP Analysis & Traditional Keyword Research&#x20;

Basically, what we do with classical keyword tools is identify low-hanging fruit keywords that have relatively high volume and low KD (keyword Difficulty). However, with the SERP Analysis technique, we want to check the SERP out for each keyword in the list to see where we can compete and identify the **Weak Pages**.

The main issue is that it takes a considerable amount of time and energy to manually check the SERP for each keyword. Analyzing the SERPs for a large number of keywords to get a list of direct competitors can take several hours or even days - this is where Larseo comes in.

Larseo can analyze thousands of keywords in a single click.

{% hint style="info" %}
A competitor has been deemed a **Weak Page** if it has a low Domain Authority (default value is 20) or is a Forum/User Generated Content (UGC) platform, such as Reddit, Quora, StackOverflow, etc.
{% endhint %}

### How to Run SERP Analysis on Your Keyword Report

First, you need to go to your keyword report and select the keywords that you want to analyze. You can choose the keyword to analyze based on the volume or your own interest or simply just choose all.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2Fk4r6SC77kA6K1FVXhZbN%2FXnapper-2023-06-14-22.12.13.png?alt=media&amp;token=d8692bb2-a323-4404-b50c-08f80e376630" alt="analyze keywords"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** You can quickly see the total volume of selected keywords on the top before analyzing it. It can give you a rough estimation of whether those selected keywords are enough for you or not before actually paying credit to analyze them.
{% endhint %}

After clicking the Analyze Keywords button, a modal will appear, allowing you to adjust settings before beginning the process.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2F4f4m76gQeClgujFpKcL5%2FXnapper-2023-06-14-22.19.29.png?alt=media&amp;token=58f5c43a-6d3a-48c2-b14f-bc2a4c46e5e4" alt="analyze keywords modal"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Use Old Analyzed Data

In this option, Larseo will check for the duplicated keywords in your other keyword reports. If you already analyzed them, Larseo will use the old analyzed data, so you can save some credits.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
Please be aware that Larseo only permits the utilization of data that is up to 30 days old, due to frequent updates to Google's Search Engine Results Page (SERP).
{% endhint %}

#### Add-ons

You can also add some add-ons to your SERP analysis.

<details>

<summary>Check Whois Data</summary>

Larseo will supply you with the WHOIS data for the domain of the Weak Pages. If a site with a domain age of less than one year can rank for a given keyword, that could be a potential keyword.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Enrich SERP Data</summary>

Larseo will give you way more than just Title Match, Domain Authority, Website Platforms, Whois Data, and Weak Pages when you analyze a keyword. You'll also get Referring Domains, Backlinks, Traffic, and Facebook/Pinterest/Reddit Shares for 10 URLs on the SERP.

</details>

If a keyword has weak pages, you will see something like this:

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2FTc4KSMKWrwCgdJt7thxx%2FXnapper-2023-06-14-22.38.34.png?alt=media&amp;token=759dfaf0-c27c-4159-8493-c5de1f6b95fe" alt="weak pages" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

If a keyword has more than **3 weak pages**, it could be a low-hanging fruit keyword. To view the details of these pages, simply hover over the favicon or click it to go to the page to see if you can beat them with better content.

You can even use the **TOP SERP** filter, to only obtain keywords that have weak pages are Forum/UGCs in the TOP 3 which are super easy-to-rank keywords.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2Fv2mGIbbnijwQUNJxxFVW%2FXnapper-2023-06-14-22.42.54.png?alt=media&amp;token=3e8a03e7-4928-467d-8b1f-a20e9dd2f2f4" alt="TOP SERP filter" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** If you see some website favicon repeatedly show up in different keywords, it is highly likely that they are your direct competitors in your niche.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Look at the weak pages which are ranking for the top 3 in SERP and whose titles don't match the keyword you're checking, and add them to your writing list. This is effective because few pages use the exact keyword in their titles. By providing timely and relevant content, you increase your chances of ranking high on SERP.

You can quickly identify keywords with at least one competitor that does not have a matching title by utilizing the **Only No Match Title** filter.
{% endhint %}

### Never Running Out of Keyword Ideas

Upon analyzing keywords, you may observe that your keyword report displays more keywords than previously. This is due to the fact that Larseo extracts all **People Also Asked (PAA)** keywords and **Related keywords** from Google SERP when analyzing keywords.

You can find them in the PAA & Related tab.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2FDsnDbpRWt2PLXl3mTn92%2FXnapper-2023-06-14-23.12.19.png?alt=media&amp;token=7503603f-7b65-4c8b-b695-f5ff179c90a9" alt="PAA + Related tab" width="325"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Competitors View

In addition to the PAA & Related tab, the Competitors tab provides a comprehensive view of all competitors in the keyword report.

This view offers valuable insights into competitor performance, allowing you to quickly compare your website with the competitors in terms of Domain Authority, ranking keywords, and pages.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2FI15HbfsGDI9lfgjOFodU%2FXnapper-2023-06-14-23.20.56.png?alt=media&amp;token=7d4849cc-ead3-4da5-b7fe-1fb0d457d447" alt="competitors view"><figcaption><p>Competitors View</p></figcaption></figure>

# Cluster Keywords

It is often said that including multiple keywords in an article can help rank for various terms. However, it is not always clear which keywords should be grouped together and which should not. If you have been searching for an answer, this guide is for you.

Here, I will demonstrate how to use Larseo for keyword clustering.

{% hint style="info" %}
Discover the advantages of keyword clustering by exploring our resources. <https://larseo.app/blog/keyword-clustering>
{% endhint %}

### Step 1: Collect keywords

There are numerous free and paid keyword research tools available to assist in collecting keywords. I typically utilize Larseo's Keyword Finder to [acquire long-tail keywords from Google Autocomplete](/features/keyword-finder).

If you possess a list of keywords from other tools, you can simply import them into a Larseo Keyword Report.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2FSEBOfzJt5YLexDEG77aK%2FXnapper-2023-06-20-15.51.38.png?alt=media&amp;token=57d3e3c1-0acf-40de-8409-0afaca4a1e7c" alt="import keywords" width="352"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Step 2: Select the Right Method to Cluster Keywords

In your Keyword Report, please select all the keywords you would like to cluster. Then, from the Other Actions dropdown, select the option to Cluster Keywords. Larseo offers two clustering methods: **SERP Clustering** and **Semantic Clustering**.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2FXWstj9ufDYLyJohMrMyM%2FCleanShot%202023-06-20%20at%2015.56.07.gif?alt=media&amp;token=f4cc7b09-25da-4d37-96f6-4f01b028ef32" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### SERP Clustering

Larseo will cluster your keywords by analyzing the Search Engine Results Page (SERP). If two keywords share more than **four pages in search engine results (similar results on SERP)**, they will be grouped together.

This approach has the advantage of leveraging Google as a partner to detect users’ search intent. If Google returns many similar pages for two keywords, it is likely that they share the same search intent.

The only disadvantage of this method is that it is time-consuming when dealing with a large list of keywords, as SERP analysis is a laborious task.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Pro Tips:**

* You can adjust the *Similar Results on SERP* threshold based on your niche, ranging from 3 to 7 (with 4 as the default). The higher the threshold, the greater the similarity of the keywords in a given cluster.
* If you have a list of keywords that share the same pattern like "*best bowling balls for \**", SERPs clustering is the best choice for you.
  {% endhint %}

#### Semantic Clustering

Larseo employs **Natural Language Processing (NLP)** models to semantically group keywords, a process that is much faster than SERP clustering, as it does not require Google crawling.

The primary advantage of this approach is its speed; it allows for the clustering of up to 50,000 keywords in mere seconds, particularly useful for large keyword lists that span a wide range of topics.

Semantic Clustering settings:

* **Model:** When selecting keywords, you can choose between the English Model and the International Model, depending on the language used.
* **Cluster size:** It is assumed that the default cluster size is 3, meaning that each cluster must contain a minimum of 3 similar keywords.
* **Threshold:** Increasing the threshold value will result in a greater similarity between keywords within a cluster, but it will also reduce the number of clusters. The threshold value should range from 10-100.

Once the keyword clustering process is complete, you will be presented with a list of clusters. Each cluster contains a parent keyword with the highest search volume and several related keywords that support the parent keyword.

In theory, each cluster corresponds to a single article to be written for your website.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** Not 100% of keywords can be clustered, the **Non-Clustered Keywords** section contains keywords that don’t belong to any clusters.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2FHDPFa7LIrCjEvXLS5TSs%2FXnapper-2023-06-20-16.20.28.png?alt=media&amp;token=34299fda-2de8-4674-996a-7051174414c9" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Beginning in November 2022, Larseo will utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assess the intent of a cluster. This capability will enable you to create more effective content that can address your customers' intent.

Additionally, you can gain a better understanding of your clusters to more easily consolidate clusters or eliminate any overlapping clusters. It is applicable to both SERP and Semantic Clustering.
{% endhint %}

You can re-visit the clusters list page by clicking the *Clusters* tab from your [Keyword Report](/features/keyword-finder/find-long-tail-keywords#access-your-keyword-report).

#### Differences between SERP Clustering & Semantic Clustering

You can watch the below video to understand the differences between them.

### Add-ons: Rank Checking Domain (SERP Clustering Only)

SERP Clustering with Ranking is a feature that gives you the ability to check the ranking of your website when running SERP clustering. By identifying clusters with low or no ranking, you can easily pinpoint content gaps quickly.

To get started, please enter your website domain in the text input.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2FyA5nJ0ipw5a1PY03TfYq%2FXnapper-2023-06-20-16.28.34.png?alt=media&amp;token=b9c942a0-bdec-4e40-8f59-2ca582c8c586" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once SERP clustering is complete, Larseo will provide information on the number of keywords your website is ranking for and the average positions. This will enable you to assess the overall performance of your website for the whole keyword cluster.

# Keyword Search Intent

Checking the search intent of a keyword is crucial for SEO for several reasons:

1. **Improved user experience:** Understanding the search intent behind a keyword helps you create more relevant and engaging content to meet the user's needs and expectations. This leads to better user experience and increased time spent on your website, which can indirectly improve your search engine rankings.
2. **Increased conversion rate:** When your content matches the search intent of a keyword, it becomes more likely that visitors will take the desired action on your website, such as making a purchase or signing up for a newsletter. This leads to higher conversion rates and better return on investment.
3. **Reduced bounce rate:** If your content meets the expectations of a user's search intent, the visitor is less likely to leave your website immediately upon arrival (bounce). A lower bounce rate can signal to search engines that your content is valuable, which can contribute to improved rankings.
4. **Better targeting of keywords:** By understanding the search intent of a keyword, you can select more relevant and effective keywords for your SEO strategy. This will help you focus on high-quality traffic that is more likely to convert, ultimately leading to a better return on your SEO efforts.

### How does Larseo Check Keyword Search Intent?

Rather than employing the "[*string matching*](#user-content-fn-1)[^1]" approach to identify search intent, we leverage Google's Search Engine Results Page (SERP) for greater accuracy. Google is the most adept at understanding user intent, and by utilizing SERP, Larseo can check search intent for all languages, whereas the traditional "string matching" method is limited in certain languages.

What is your opinion on the search intent of the keyword "socks"? Is it an Informational keyword? **No, it is not.**

When searching "socks" on Google, Ads and Google Shopping appear prominently. Furthermore, the Organic Results are mainly comprised of E-commerce websites or the best articles.

{% hint style="info" %}
Google understands that users searching for the keyword "socks" are not looking to discover what socks are, but rather to purchase them.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2Fyet59sIzZLtv0fxNIxiK%2FXnapper-2023-06-22-12.39.11.png?alt=media&amp;token=a0260f29-da34-4327-94cc-a4f7abde2180" alt=""><figcaption><p>SERP of keyword "socks"</p></figcaption></figure>

This is the keyword search intent result when running on Larseo. It's a **Transactional** keyword. If you are writing an informational article, you will not have the opportunity to rank for this keyword on your website.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2FU2brpyJjWgh3LGw1Hw4e%2FXnapper-2023-06-22-12.36.31.png?alt=media&amp;token=ac8fe666-58a3-4c3d-8614-f45ecefa7b95" alt="" width="205"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How to Check Keyword Search Intent on Larseo?

# Keyword Extractor

Extracting all keywords of text or URLs by using Natural Language Processing (NLP).

It is important to note that this tool does not provide ranked keywords for a domain or URL. To check ranked keywords, please use the [Traffic Explorer](https://app.larseo.app/traffic) tool instead.

Keyword Extractor can help you maximize your SEO potential. Here are some use cases:

* The tool can help you discover new keywords and identify popular search terms related to your industry or niche. You will find keywords that the *"ranked keywords"* checker tools never give you.
* It can assist you in analyzing your competitors' websites and identifying the keywords they are targeting.
* The tool can generate keyword ideas based on a particular topic or seed keyword. This can be helpful when brainstorming new content ideas or expanding your content strategy.
