# Find Long-tail Keywords

In this section, we will demonstrate how to fetch long-tail keywords from *Google Autocomplete, Reddit, Quora, or any site*.

### Fetching Long-tail Keywords

Visit <https://app.larseo.app/keywords/finder>, you will see a simple form with a search bar.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2FukzMLoTzBap0t2vJOB93%2FXnapper-2023-06-13-16.01.38.png?alt=media&#x26;token=5f3b9cac-f200-4c72-90c1-434568862c2e" alt="search bar"><figcaption><p>A search bar can give you unlimited keywords.</p></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 1

Enter your seed keyword. For example, *“dog food”*. You can also use a **wildcard (\*)** as a placeholder, something like: *“how to change \*”*, or *“best \* for \*”.*

#### Step 2

Select a locale. Larseo uses locale info to check keyword search volume and identify which Google version (UK, US, etc) yields the best results.

#### Step 3

Select a keyword source below.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Autocomplete" %}
Larseo will fetch keywords from Google Autocomplete which is one of the best sources to find long-tail keywords.

* The seed keyword **"dog food"** will give you keywords like *dog food for sensitive stomach*, *dog food container*, *dog food recipes*, etc.
* **"best book for \*"** will only provide keywords that are of type "**best book for** something".
* **"how to \* book \*"** => "**how to** something **book** something".

{% hint style="info" %}
Sometimes, you will get location-based keywords like *dog feed near me*, *best dog food \[city],* you can exclude them by using [Negative Filters](https://help.larseo.app/features/keyword-finder/negative-filters) feature.
{% endhint %}
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Google PAA" %}
Google PAA is Google People Also Asked and this is the best question keyword database.&#x20;

You just need to enter a seed keyword, Larseo will fetch question keywords that related to your seed keyword.\
\
You can enter up to **1000 seed keywords**. Each keyword is on its own line. The more seed keywords you enter, the more question keywords you will get.

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2F2pmhLUhuvQt2ircMeO7I%2FXnapper-2023-06-13-15.54.32.png?alt=media&#x26;token=dae63357-afb8-44a9-8937-a5ce8d7c231b" alt="google people also asked"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Reddit + Quora + Specific Site" %}
The unique point of Larseo is that it can help you do keyword research on a specific site such as Quora, Reddit, or any other site you want.

But why Quora and Reddit are worth doing keyword research?

Because they are the largest online question-and-answer platform, where you can find tons of content ideas and, of course, various question-based-long-tail keywords. Moreover, if a keyword is ranked in the top 10 by Reddit or Quora, it may indicate a low level of competition, thus allowing you to rank for that keyword with minimal effort.

This is the syntax for searching ranked keywords of a site.

<pre><code><a data-footnote-ref href="#user-content-fn-1">seed keyword</a> site:reddit.com
</code></pre>

If you are conducting keyword research for a programming blog, you can be certain that Stack Overflow (*stackoverflow\.com*) contains many keywords relevant to the niche.

```
python site:stackoverflow.com
```

{% hint style="info" %}
You can click the **Advance Setting** button to change the keyword position or search volume ordering. By default, Larseo will only pull keywords that are ranked in the top 10 of a site and prioritize the keywords that have the most search volume.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://3304680670-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWSsTcOCQdKYHXGwRFPDC%2Fuploads%2F1wA2RpPKVIcXyCw82kU5%2FXnapper-2023-06-13-16.14.50.png?alt=media&#x26;token=a0646047-fc32-4a15-9250-8fde5383cac6" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

#### Step 4 (For Autocomplete source only)

There are 3 modes for **Autocomplete** source.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Manual" %}
Larseo adds each letter of the alphabet and applies popular modifiers to the seed keyword. This allows Larseo to explore a wide range of related autocomplete suggestions.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="NLP" %}
Larseo uses *Natural Language Processing (NLP)* to generate semantic keywords based on your seed keyword. This mode increases the number of keywords by **15-20%** compared to Manual mode.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="In Topic" %}
This mode is ideal for retrieving keywords related to a specific topic. For example, searching&#x20;

<pre><code><a data-footnote-ref href="#user-content-fn-2">how to change *</a> topic:"automotive”
</code></pre>

will return results like “*how to change car battery*” or “*how to change car oil*”, instead of unrelated results like “*how to change an avatar picture*”.

{% hint style="info" %}
A tip when fetching keywords from Google Autocomplete with Topic mode

You can add a wildcard (\*) to your seed keyword, Larseo will respect your pattern.

**topic:"food" can I \*** will give you:

* can I eat tofu raw
* can I freeze yogurt

while **topic:"food" can I** will give you as many keywords as possible:

* what can I make with yogurt
* what can I steam dumplings in
* can I eat tofu raw
  {% endhint %}
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Entity" %}
This mode helps you find keywords that are related to the entities in your niche.

<pre><code>best <a data-footnote-ref href="#user-content-fn-3">entity:"cooking equipment"</a> for *
</code></pre>

Larseo will find entities that related to "cooking equipment" and give you keywords like: *"best knife for filleting salmon"* or *"best knife for cutting meat".*

By using this mode, you can easily find untapped keyword ideas. These keywords are associated with entities, allowing you to include them and enhance your topical authority.

Here are some popular ways to use the **Entity** mode:

* best entity:"cooking equipment" for \*
* entity:"cooking equipment"
* can I entity:"cooking"
* entity:"rowing machine" review
* tesla vs entity:"car models"

**Results:**

**If you have a hard time figuring out the seed keywords, you should spend more time brainstorming topic ideas upfront**

Larseo's [Topic Explorer](https://help.larseo.app/features/topic-explorer) and [Keyword Extractor](https://help.larseo.app/features/keyword-extractor) are great resources to help you get started. Take a look at the detailed instructions in the below screenshots

### Access Your Keyword Report

After fetching the long-tail keywords, Larseo will redirect you to a keyword report page. You can see the keywords, search volume, and CPC of each keyword.

{% hint style="info" %}
Keyword search volume is pulled from Google Ads API.
{% endhint %}

Here is what a keyword report looks like:
